Project Title:

Persuasion Machines

Shown:

Sundance Film Festival 2020

Persuasion Machines was developed as a VR experience about surveillance capitalism under the direction of  acclaimed director Karim Amer. It walks an individual through a 20 minute deep dive into the impact of allowing major companies access to their browsing, position, and shopping data. After the VR portion, people were shown their performance stats and interviewed in a “digital detox” area about their feelings toward being so closely tracked and analyzed.

The project is a multi-player, non-linear mixed reality experience that uses proxemics as triggers for events, and explores the impact of full-scale immersion on story-telling.

Persuasion Machines was developed in collaboration with Ozel Office
